after four years of Art school in new york city and a long time as a practicing fine artist, Art restorer and museum quality picture framer, i started my journey of making handmade furniture. beginning at the bottom twelve years ago, sweeping floors and emptying dust barrels, i apprenticed in wood shops learning the process and skills to make fine furniture. through those years, i read everything on the subject of wood working, and began making prototypes from my own designs in our tiny garage. After more than 10,000 hours of practice, i'm confident i can build almost anything.

More than a year ago, my parents moved from the North East, out to the great Pacific North West to be with our family. My father and I decided to invest in each other and make Miles Woodworking a reality. I now spend my days at our wood shop in Ferndale, Wa. making furniture designs and running production. My father and mother run our retail showroom in Bellingham, Wa.  So far it has been great working together and meeting many new and interesting people. Please stop by and say hello or contact us to set up a shop visit.

Another large part of our business is making quality School furniture. Once my wife and I had our daughter, I naturally began making furniture for each stage of her growth. This led to supplying local Waldorf and Montessori schools with desks, tables and chairs. For the past eight years, we have provided furniture for well over forty Schools up and down the West coast and expanding throughout the United States and Canada. Most of our clients consist of Waldorf, Montessori and Charter Schools. We take the time and listen to teachers needs and never stop trying to improve our designs. The philosophy's of these Schools are very important to me and my family.
